Wednesday 1st October 2014 - Decided to spend another night here and have rest day, eventually. I really like this hostel and the beds are super comfy.
Went down to the guy to ask and apparently there is a Liverpool v Basel football match on tonight. But, luckily I scored the last bed!
Had an amazing shower and updated all the blog and photos for most of the afternoon, from a nice leather chair and footstool, whilst the football supports arrived.
Switzerland also don't have European plug sockets. I don't have a Swiss adaptor. Uh oh. Got the lend of one from the guy on reception. He wants it back later this evening. My battery needs to charge overnight. Hoping he forgets about it!
Had to go and get some Swiss Francs as well and some food. Such an expensive country, £10 for about 4 things from the supermarket. At least their bank notes are colourful, maybe its to subconsciously make you happy and therefore distracts you, momentarily, from thinking about what you just paid out.
Went into a cycle shop and asked what might be wrong with my back wheel. Says its the axle needs tightened or something. Asked what's the worst that could happen if I didn't and he said I'd need a new hub. What with the language barrier, my limited mechanical knowledge and him not actually seeing the bike, I'm not sure if this information is accurate. I guess I'll keep riding until I find out!
Also found an outlet outdoor shop a few doors down and finally found a gas canister for my burner. Yey!!!!
Back up to the hostel, had food and chatted to some of the football fans for a bit. Football is so not my thing at all!
Then in my room was a girl from China who was also a Liverpool supporter and going to the game.
She has been studying Chemistry in Stuttgart for the last 4 years and graduated yesterday. So she was going to this match, Oktoberfest and then flying home to China. She is looking forward to the next Chinese new year as she has missed the last 5 years.
Another girl from Brazil also in room. She just arrived after travelling 30 odd hours, so she's in that state of not knowing what to do. She decided she's going to drink beer. Haha, some craic!!
Double bed tonight, yeow! Star shaped sleeping coming up!
